Need for Commitment

Relationships are often the first things that come to mind when we notice our need for commitment isn't being met. Interestingly, however, we often fail to keep commitments to ourselves too. In this way making small attainable plans/commitments to ourselves can be a healthy way to tend to this need without references to others. During a meltdown I once committed to myself that I would flip my hand over on the count of three. In it's own tiny way I was able to prove to myself that I do have some control over myself and that I can predict the future even if it's just in this tiny way.

Strategies:

Schedule your day

Consider using pictures if lists are unhelpful. Could draw them or print them. It's not perfect but having some kind of a plan can help me

Crunch the numbers

This isn't for everyone I know, but I like to review my budget. I made a google sheet of my expenses vs my income. Having a clear plan really does calm my nerves.
